Raul Ernesto Henriquez has over 12 years of experience as an entrepreneur, operator, and venture capitalist. As a Partner at Medina Ventures, Raul Ernesto is a member of the Investment Committee, identifies investment opportunities, is responsible for overseeing the fund’s operations, working with portfolio company founders, portfolio management, and investor relations.
Previously, Raul Ernesto was a Managing Partner at Candor Ventures, a start-up studio and venture builder with a mission of empowering the next generation of technology entrepreneurs. Candor Ventures took an innovative approach to VC, maximizing capital efficiency by hiring, managing, and introducing mature technical teams at the very early stage of portfolio companies in congruence with our capital contributions.
As such, Candor Ventures would assume responsibility for every technical product build aspect by implementing their best-in-class processes and documentation. As Managing Partner, Raul Ernesto co-led investments into all 12 portfolio companies.
As an operator, Raul Ernesto was one of the first 10 employees to join Cameo, a tech start-up that would grow into unicorn status. As the Head of Strategic Partnerships, Raul helped implement many of the best practices that helped grow the company to its current state. Before that, he served as the Director of US Operations at Represent.com, a Y-Combinator startup that would go on to be acquired by Custom Ink in 2016.
Raul Ernesto began his career in Washington D.C. in 2012, as a Senior Staff Assistant serving under Speaker John Boehner during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives. In 2015, Raul Ernesto was selected by Jeb Bush to serve as his personal aide during his campaign for the 2016 presidential election.
Raul Ernesto has a Bachelors in Science from Babson College with a concentration in Strategic Management & International Business Management.
